Lake Como Eats – Honeymoon Addition

Lake Como Eats – Honeymoon Addition

Before we jump into details of Lake Como, I wanted to touch on our experience in Milan. Milan is such a gorgeous city. It reminds me of New York City, beautifully dressed business men and women hustle by against a backdrop of perfectly excited designer window displays. On our first night in Milan, per recommendation of our friend Maya, we dined at Obica Duomo. This restaurant has a trendy atmosphere surrounded by panoramic views of Milan’s Duomo. Our meal consisted of a gorgeous charcuterie board, truffle hand-made pasta and a fresh mozzarella tomato pesto salad. This was the perfect place to dine for our first night in Milan.

Lake Como: My husband and I spent two days in Milan. While there we decided to take a day trip to Lake Como. This was perhaps one of our best decisions of the trip. While we did not spot George Clooney, we took in some of the most spectacular views of our life. Our journey took us to Belliago, the most Northern part of the lake. It is known as “The Pearl of Lake Como.” Belliago is a beautifully charming lake town complete with gorgeous pottery shops, delicious restaurants, and cobblestone streets that lead you through it’s winding landscape. While there I bought a gorgeous hand-painted kitchen set and a hand carved wooden cheese boards. Shop a similar styles here: https://www.italianpottery.com/

We lunched at a gorgeous restaurant right on the water, Birra Belliago. Being a restaurant located right on the water, the menu was light and elegant which perfectly matched the vibe of the town. We enjoyed salmon sandwiches complete with a ice cold beer, while watching the boats float by. It was literally the picture perfect afternoon.
